Merseyside Youth Association

www.mya.org.uk

The Brief
MYA is a charity which works with young people across the Merseyside region. Within the current political and economic climate, they needed to reassess their communications to help them gain new funding streams, and to ensure the longevity of the organisation.
The Work
Starting with a half-day management team workshop, we worked with MYA to develop a unique brand proposition for the organisation, positioning them as a major contender for funding in the region. We then built a communications strategy and plan as a platform to raise awareness, demonstrate MYA’s skills and ultimately to ensure financial stability
The Result
Following the above work, we also provided training for MYA staff, to engage them in the strategy and to set the activity in motion. MYA is now taking forward the plans and we look forward to hearing about their progress in the coming months.

The Communications Hub worked closely with our client, Merseyside Youth Association, seeking to overhaul its marketing and communications work, delivering a series of workshops and a well prepared strategy. Lara was reliable, responsive and results focussed throughout, and was well liked by the client. The work was thorough and well executed.

Sobell Rhodes LLP

www.sobellrhodes.co.uk

The Brief
Sobell Rhodes is a successful accountancy practice, with a strong client base. Always looking for new ways to expand their business further, they asked The Communications Hub to assist by taking a fresh look at the company’s marketing plans.
The Work
We worked closely with key staff at Sobell Rhodes to understand how the business operated, and to get to grips with what they needed. We built a full marketing plan for them, which work towards their business goals, providing innovative new ideas and pulling everything together, whilst also incorporating some of Sobell Rhodes’ existing marketing materials, so that these did not go to waste.
The Result
Following our work with them, Sobell Rhodes has now put in place a marketing manager, and we continue to support them as they take activity forward. Initial indications are that the plans are working well for them, helping them to target the clients they want, and giving a strong structure to the company’s marketing efforts.

I wanted to say a big thank you on behalf of myself and all my partners at Sobell Rhodes for helping us to create our communication strategy and marketing plan. You gave us some really great new ideas in how we can communicate more effectively not only to our own clients but also to the ones we would like to act for in the future. I will be delighted to recommend you to clients who require a cohesive marketing and communication plan to drive their business forward.

Full Focus Fitness

The Brief
A personal training business based in North London, Full Focus was looking to expand its operation from one-to-one training, to outdoor fitness classes.  The company had started to run ‘FitClub’ classes, but needed to drive more customers to make the classes viable on a long-term basis.
The Work
We took the time to understand Full Focus’s business and needs, suggesting key target audiences to focus on, and a market positioning which would fit with this to attract new sign-ups to FitClub.  A communications strategy to help situate Full Focus locally as the leading experts in fitness was coupled with a marketing plan which provided ideas which could be taken forward effectively even on a very low budget.
The Result
Early results suggest that the approach has been very effective in driving new registrations to Fit Club, with one location now full and others increasing in membership.

Working with The Communications Hub allowed us to take a step back from the day to day business, looking at our objectives and working out how we could actually reach them with effective marketing.  It’s helped our business to grow, and we’ll definitely come back to The Communications Hub in the future.

The Construction Sector Transparency Initiative (CoST)

www.constructiontransparency.org
The Brief
CoST is an international transparency programme funded by the World Bank, the Department for International Development (DFID) and the German public body GIZ. CoST was seeking an advisor to lead on communications and marketing on an ongoing basis, and to sit on the CoST International Secretariat.
The Work
We have been working with CoST since March 2012, leading on all aspects of their communication. This has included developing a communications strategy and plan, carrying out research on perceptions of the programme, stakeholder liaison and continuing management of marketing activity. We have also built relationships with key journalists to secure coverage of CoST in high-profile media, including The Guardian and the Financial Times
The Result
Working with The Communications Hub has enabled CoST to formalise its framework for communications, to have access to the resources to manage it and, most importantly, to raise the profile of the initiative. This has been essential as the programme expands internationally, bringing on board new participating countries and donors.
